If you want to get a better way of calculating fish load there is a formula on
the Koivet site that is far more accurate than using the old myth formulas of
inches per gallon. One problem with the inches per gallon method is that one
12" fish weighs the same as almost 200 two inch fish. The formula there can
still be off by at least half (some fish are thin, some thick) but that is far
better than the old method which really only works well when comparing fish of
all the same size.
