Default Fiberglass pond w/ window

Its not uncommon to see light infiltrating through fiberglass. Just
take most any fiberglass boat, and have someone with a drop light
shine it around inside the hull at night and look from the outside and
yu can see light in spots. Its really not a concern and in no way a
blowout. Its merely a spot the gel coat (the smooth colored coating)
is thin. Gel coat adds no strength to the fiberglass its merely
cosmetic and used to give the glass a smooth finish or a finish to
cover up the texture of the glass cloth. If the container was kept
full of water it should be fine, as fiberglas usually starts to
deteriorate in sun light but it takes a lot of years and then its
usually just a dulling of the gel coat surface. Fiberglas is easy to
work with once you know how, its like icing a cake.

Check out aquatic Eco Systems for a run down on the value of what they
call Viewing tanks or observation port tanks. They are kind of pricey.

do you have any links to similar products? i think the size is only
275 gallons which also made me think its not worth it. im told it was
full and doesnt leak, but i can see light coming through the
fiberglass in one or two spots. it could be because it needs a paint
job or is it certain that the fiberglass might have a blow out and
destroy more than it cost?

Fiber glass is easy to fix, and expensive to buy such a container.
What you are looking at sounds like the observation window tanks
Aquatic Eco sells for about $400 new plus Shipping..... I seem to
think for a container as such in need of repairs its not worth the
$200 price tag hung on it.., unless you hjave lots of time and already
have and are handy with fiberglass layup. If your handy with fiberglas
its easy to add shelves here and there and modify it to suit, and
while it may not make the most fasionable koi or gf pond its still
certianly useable for keeping fish in.
