NO! That's dangerous as if a connection came lose you can lose all
your fish and burn out your pump. Always have it above the bottom by
at least 18" to 2' for safety. Don't put in real close to the
filter's outflow for obvious reasons. Try to get it as far from the
outflow as possible.
