Maybe this is old news, you can, on YAHOO, search for weather all over
the world to learn of the patterns where your orchids came from should
you know that. For instance I called up Novo Hamburgo in SE Brazil and
obtained a graph of the annual Temp. and rainfall. Turns out the max.
temp. is 10 Degrees cooler and the Min. temp. is 10 warmer on average
than Houston, Tx. where I live. Rainfall is about twice our annual
average. This information should help me care for some Oncidiums I have
that are reportedly from that area. Anyway it is interesting to me to
have this information.
As of now I don't know the extremes of that area. I am interested in
the record lows to see if these plants can handle an occasional freeze!
