each ring on the stem is a growth nodule, so if you have a couple of those
nodules in soil they will grow roots, if above soil they will grow leaves.
you can cut them (i can't tell you where as i can't see the plants) and
simply stick them in water they will take root. and the nodule on the
original plant below you cut will grow new leaf buds. they are a "Dracaena
sanderiana". cloesely related to the 'cordalines', they will all grow the
same.
