I would be particularly keen to know if there are such places in the UK, I've searched the net but there is no mention of such nursaries. Could it be that all our orchids are imported from canada?

If any of you have worked in such lpaces I would love a little insight into your world.

Please let me know.

Many thanks,

Hi Pete,

There are no such nurseries in the UK. The pot-plant orchids are grown in Holland by the million. By growing clones of the same plant in one house, they are able to rely completely on computerised systems. These systems won't work in our greenhouses of assorted genera.

The nurseries are not normally open to the public, but have opened their doors to orchid societies in the past. Join one!
