Default Beard Algae in a 10G

Treatments won't work. As soon as the treatment stops the algae comes
back.

Best thing you can do is reduce feeding levels, increase water changes
(I'd do 50% a week) or get yourself a Siamese flying fox fish.

See http://www.thefishwiki.com/Siamese_Flying_Fox

I've got 2 of these in a 55G tank and they really are a great beard
algae eater.
Peaceful and amusing to look at too.

Some may tell you to get ten Yamato or Amano shrimp - Caridina Japonica
for your 10G

They'll eat the algae eventually and will not bioload your tank very
much at all!

Your tetras will not be bothered by either of these animals.
