Default ID this flowering tree, Santa Fe NM

She is absolutely correct. Remember that most "stone" fruits,
including cherry, apricot, plum, etc., are particularly suseptible to
borers, so plan a schedule as soon as planted. Ocassionally, I have
noticed that a tree may grow for 30 years and never see a borer, and
others succumb the second year. Go figure! Bob
