Default Woodpecker And House Siding Damage: Thoughts On Preventing ?

Robert11 wrote:
Hi,

Live outside of Boston.

Have a woodpecker that is really doing a number on my wood house siding.
Incredible the amount of damage they can do, apparently.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to keep him away, or any other
thoughts on preventing this ?

In the past people have said this is because the little buggers are
horny and it's that time of year. He's trying to locate a mate.

I don't think they are looking for food because my suet feeder is
covered with woodpeckers year 'round. There's no shortage and they know
where to find it. Also, I can see the inside of the garage siding
where I had to shoo one away just yesterday. There is no trace of bugs.
