Ok after my earlier post of the 21/05/06 all my tomato plants have now
died.
I got in from work today and they had all wilted very badly, wife had
given
them plenty of water. The leaves were very brittle and curled up. The
stem
just snapped off in my hand as I pulled one of them out. I didn't see
anything wrong with the internal structure of the stem. I also noticed
that
there doesn't seem to have been a lot of root growth since they were
planted. Anyone offer any advice? The 3 plants in the growbag my mother
gave
me as she didn't have the room for them are still going strong though.

TIA

I don't know whether this might be of use to you in the future ? No help
really now as it's after the fact.

I've lost crops from the same thing but it's more sad to hear when
neighbours involved with allotments have spoken of every single allotment
holder having to burn their crops.

Whether the grey fungus clouds that come off the plants when touched is
part of the same symptom but that never seems to get mentioned with
blight?

Richard.

I'm in Devon and I'm plagued by self-seeded tomato plants growing in my veg
patch. They have purple stems but do not seem to be fazed by it.
