| I had a pulmonaria ('blue ensign') delivered last week from a mail
| order supplier in a batch of other perennials. The leaves have some
| sort of rusty thing going on around their edges. Will the plant recover
| from this, or should I ask them to send me another one.
|
| This is getting late in the year for pulmonarias, they are
| early-spring plants. Their leaves often go rusty as they age. The next
| year, the new leaves will be normal and healthy at first..then go rusty
| all over again.
And a HUGE number of plants get various rusts, which are typically spread
by the wind and thrive in warm, damp conditions - and sometimes in dry
ones, depending on the rust! Rust is a fact of life ....
