Eric's reasons make more sense to me than the condition of the plants. Many
of the orchids with pseudobulbs can last quite a while without being cared
for. I even saw them for sale at the Selby gift shop the last time we were
down there.

I think it's absolutely worth it to pay more for your orchids if it means
your local grower can stay in business another generation, teaching their
clients all about the love of orchids.

The alternative is the continued homogenization of America.
