We are lokig for a bio filter above ground to use in our outdoor
pond------no plants-no fish, just a tropical water scene. Can someone
advise? TIA Barbe

You don't need a "bio" filter if there's no life in the pond. In fact
there's basically nothing to support a bio filter without living creatures
in the water. Just about any appropriately sized pool filter will do the
trick. As for keeping down algae, well without life in the pond just add
chlorine etc as necessary.
