Ride-on mower query : Lawnflite 908 or Yardman NH5200 ?
I'm looking to replace my current ride-on (archaic Westwood Gazelle) and
have narrowed things down to the following ..
Lawnflite 908, 41" cut, 18hp Kohler engine
Yardman NH5200, 41" cut, 20hp B&S engine (more expensive than the
Lawnflite).
Both have rear discharge direct collection with 300 Litre capacity.
The Yardman has "electric cutter engagement" which sounds great.
My Gazelle has a 16hp B&S with 48" cut but I've been spending 10 hours bits
fixing it for every hour it spends actually working, so it's time to retire
it.
I intend using the new one to cut a half-acre park once a week, with
occassional larger jobs topping a couple of parks of c. 2.5 acres each
twice a summer. I'd also like to use it to tow a small trailer and hopefully
a roller and harrow too.
I'm familiar with the Lawnflite and know a few people who have them, but
I've not seen any of the Yardman ones in use round here. I thought Yardman
was an American one and am surprised to see they have a model with the rear
discharge arrangement.
Does anyone have any recommendations for either brand ? good / bad
experiences with them ?
Cheers,
Richard
