Default Filling in a garden pond

Hmmm.. I think I would rather fill it in - in fact I did this in one
house/garden I occupied - because I know of a family where their youngest,
a toddler, fell in to their pond and nearly drowned. He didn't drown but
suffered brain damage and is now severely physically handicapped.

I've known several children who've died or been injured as the result of
other accidents.

I lost a niece in a farm sheep stank - should that have been filled in
?

Hi Mary - it's nice to see you pester the gardeners as well as the
DIY'ers, and I certainly go with all you and others have said about
retaining ponds I haven't got any GC's yet so don't have to worry at
the moment - time will come (I hope) and the problem will have to
addressed then.

PK's statistics about 1 to 2 year olds is useful.
