Default Edging for curved borders?

Thanks for the advice so far.

I've just dug 3 new vegetable beds, each 30 feet by 4'6". The long
sides of the beds follow quite pronounced curves, which rules out
using planks or sleepers for edging. Bricks are an option, but a
little too permanent... snip

Do they have to be raised beds? You could edge with a low hedge of somehing
like box. For a cheaper alternative, I'm edging mine with thyme. From a
single plant you can grow another hundred in a year from cuttings and when
you come to clipping the low hedge you can use the clippings for cooking
instead of composting them.
