Really? You have never heard of the TV series 'Bergerac', filmed back in
the 70s/80s, or the current and ongoing 'Midsomer Murders", starring
Nettles? Even if you don't watch tv, they do come up in newspapers from
time to time! , And you have never heard of Jack Higgins and e.g. the book
and film, The Eagle has Landed, or Ian Botham, the world-famous cricketer?
That seems quite extraordinary, even in terms of my personal preference
for
p&q.

Is there room under your stone Mary ?
I've never heard of any of the above either (except the Eagle has Landed)
I do watch BBC but obviously not the same choices.

'Midsomer Murders' appear on both Dutch and Belgian TV.
Bergerac is being shown yet agin on Belgian TV.

It's quite funny to watch the earliest in the Bergerac series because not
only do I recognise some of the extras, we then watch Midsomer Murders to
see John N has aged very fast! It was also quite amusing at the time to see
how the hunt for desirable locations made some roads in Jersey end in
entirely the 'wrong' place.
