Default Little round beads

Can anyone help,I was repotting my camellia and I found loads of what

looked
like small round yellow beads they looked hard but when I pressed them

they
broke like an egg and were wet inside Iv'e never seem anything like this
before can anyone enlighten me
TIA Chris

I think they may be slugs eggs.

As someone else points out, almost certainly slow release fertiliser
(e.g. Osmocote). They caught me, too!

Well, Nick, for once I have to disagree with you. These things turn up
several times a year in our garden. We never use slow release fertiliser and
rarely buy established plants.

We've had this garden for almost forty years, they can't be left from all
that time ago.

What's more, an enthusiastic son once monitored them and whaddyaknow? They
hatched! I don't know what emerged because by the time I was called to see
the hens had scoffed them. Perhaps they were dragons?
