Default Kiki has a spike....break it or keep it?

Thanks Diana!... especially for the watering tip -- I guess I've been
neglecting the little one.

dkar,

Personally, I'd leave it on but give it some support. You can do that with

a
stake. Make sure to give the keiki roots water when you water the plant.

I have a kiki that has been sloooowly growing "a" root for the past few
months, but now its also grown a flower spike about 4-inches long. The
root is about 5-inches long and I've not wrapped it with spaghnum or
anything...its just "out there"...

Question: will the flower spike sap the energy from the kiki and should

I
break off the spike,...or leave it alone?

The parent plant also has two spikes and is in great health.

Thx.
