What gives here? I joined this group in the hope of expanding my knowledge

overgrown town garden. I am now wondering whether to stay for fear of attack
from some members of this group. In a few days of membership I have been
reading more bitching and hate on this NG than I can recall ever reading
elsewhere.

Is it always like this?
Is it worth hanging around for the garden talk to start?
Is there a real gardening NG somewhere?
Will I attract the abuse now?

I've been here for a while now, and just ignore the ego and
agro stuff.

To be honest I've no idea what it is all about. As with spam, the best
filter is what lies between the ears, and applying that you can easily
ignore everything but the real gardening stuff - well not quite, I
responded here :-)

Happy gardening

Hey MuddyMike, if you love power tools, with a garden that size go and
get a shredder. I only have 1/2acre, and the shredder is my most used
and favourite tool.
