From misty rainforests to remote mountain ridges, from dense woodland
to open meadows, the beauty and diversity of orchids is captivating.
This exhibition takes visitors on a walk on the wild side -- from the
forest floor up into the tree canopy -- to discover and explore the
place of orchids in the world.
The annual orchid exhibition, a collaboration between the Smithsonian's
Horticulture Services Division and the U.S. Botanic Garden, alternates
location between the two. The exhibition is on view at the Natural
History Museum in 2007.
