Default Water parameters

The tank (Tank #1) with the undersized fry was drained yesterday and I ran a
test on the water:

Temp: 50F
Ammonio: 0
Nitrates and Nitrites: Both 0
Total hardness: GH 150
KH ppm: 180
PH: 8.4
Tank #1 is in shade from the house in the winter. Full sun in summer.

Bottom of tank had slight amount of mulm and a lot of live plants consisting
of hornwart and elodea. There were a few leaves and twigs on the bottom
blown from nearby trees to the north of the tanks. The sides were coated
with a blackish algae. There were no bad odors. Two water lilies and 4
Pickerel weed in pots were removed for sterilization with PP. Small dead
koi littered the bottom. Some had slight deformities, mostly in the head
area. All but one koi was undersize and not well fleshed out. None had
sores. Scrapes showed no parasites as per Dr. Johnson's book. These were
mostly butterfly koi. Water was greenish and murky. The liner was pulled
and cleaned with chlorine bleach, hosed and replaced.

The entire lot in Tank #1 (about 800g) is a total loss. Only one fry was
4" in length. Most were no more than 1" long, body length. These fry are
about 8 months old.

I will try to get to Tank #2 (650g) this coming week and see what I
discover.
