Surely the same could be said for horse manure?


Certainly, though the harmful effects would depend on what the horse has
been given. But that's why some people advise not using it straight away,
especially if you've ascertained that the horses are receiving some form of
medical treatment. If that's the case, many prefer to pile it in a corner
somewhere and let the rain wash it for them!
