Default join liner?

You CAN do it, using seaming tape, but I would not recommend it, especially
if you are in a zone with lots of frost (affects the seams along the walls
as things shift a bit), or have gravel on the bottom of your pond (harder to
repair a leak on the bottom, as you have to move the gravel away from the
seamed area to locate/repair same.).
Some have been successful at joining liners in this fashion with no leaks,
but considering your investment, and the work required to redo it if a leak
develops, you are better off, IMO, to buy a full size replacement (one solid
piece) liner, and go with that.
Save the old liner for a stream, adjacent bog garden, or something else.
Happy ponding,
Greg
