Default beds and edgings

Hi i have a small rectangular garden that i've made a new layout for. I have some soil that will come from a small pond and a few other areas, and i'd like to know the cheapest way to incorporate it into other beds, making some slightly raised beds/areas, and providing a few contours. i have lap panel fences around the boundaries. i want to be able to contain the soil effectively, while having any edging or whatever is i use, to look good. are there any tricks to this or is is it all about breeze blocks and boards? i'll also need to edge the lawns too. any good ideas for these problems?
also the soil here is 75% alkaline. is there any way to have acid ph beds near or within alkaline beds? If so how far down would i have to change / alter the soil and how would i separate the borders?
appreciate any help thanks
