Barley straw will not kill algae, it prevents it. I buy large bales
very cheaply. It must be loose so light and air can contact it. I run
my bubbler under the bale. They recommend 4 or 5 - 35# bales per acre.
So for you they would recommend 25 to 30 bales. That is a lot less than
$800. I get mine from my local ACE hardware, but you probably could buy
