Yes, the Irish of today, unlike the past, are solid meat-eaters.
It does really, really suck. Eating out is a nightmare. Forget it.
As for what's available in the shops, well you'll find the basics
of course - fresh fruits and vegetables, etc. And these days
there'll be a healthfood shop in most towns, where you'd find
a greater selection of organic produce, maybe even nut-cutlets,
tahini, couscous, etc. and vegan ice-cream. Nowhere near
the range and variety that you have in the UK though, just yet.
And, of course, all the Irish are vegetarians!
