Default Dog Pee in Potential Garden Site

Hello from New England, USA ---

I apologize in advance if this inquiry is distasteful, but we have an
elderly arthritic (but so beloved) Chesapeake Bay Retriever dog who
tends to pee not far from our back (kitchen) door stoop, especially
during the winter months when snow and ice deter her from venturing
farther.

We would like to develop her current "pee area" into a more
respectable entry way, while urging her to go a bit farther out back.

We're thinking of paving with brick outside the kitchen door stoop
(because it could be hosed down frequently), but, continuing outside
that area, are there any hardy plants that could withstand dog urine?

Sorry to be so blunt, but welcoming any advice with thanks ....

Patricia
