I normally water with a seaweed extract at first to get them going then
leave them alone. BTW are you a drill or hole planter? I'm the latter.

I watered them into holes this time. Perhaps it's not too late for me
to do similar to you and give them some seaweed extract.

Sarah, my husband uses the same method as Bob and it works fine and
you can give a feed now and then leave them alone.


Thanks all for your posts. I'll administer some seaweed extract and
I'm sure my other half will do the honours with your other suggestion.
(I'm rather hoping it doesn't *have* to be Newcastle Brown Ale and
that the local Cambridgeshire real ales will be just as good!)
