They are a bit hairy, but not sticky - unless you've got/had greenfly on
them in which case they leave a deposit of honeydew.

maybe you are right about the leaves. I think it is the actual stems. it
is quite sticky. each time I touch it to check the dryness of the soil or
look at the buds I can feel the residue.

it doesn't last long - not sticky like, say honey. I hate gunk and have to
wash my hands immediately (I don't suffer from OCD), with this plant I can
wait about 5 minutes and the stickiness goes. hope that makes sense
