You don't say what kind of rose bush. If wild rose you can divide at
the root, but most rose bushes are hybridized grafts onto wild rose
stock, those you're pretty much stuck with unless you know how to
graft the hybridized cuttings... it's hardly worth the trouble, rose
bushes are inexpensive, much simpler to just buy a new rose bush.
