It's
pretty wasteful of water in dry/sunny environments. There's a bit of a
catch-22 - the more exposure to air the water gets the better the
oxygenation, but more evaporation, too.
Yes, in Phoenix now, hose water evaporates 2 feet after leaving hose.
Ouch! That's a twist on the story we Canadians usually use - but isn't
appropriate to a family newsgroup :-)
