We don't get papers either :-(

Mary, you can come out of the Andersen shelter. WWII is over!

Had you been in an Anderson Shelter you would know how to spell it :-))

We had a Morrison shelter as well

We had an Anderson shelter and for a while it was unusable, as it always had
a lot of water in it, just as well, because had we been in it one night we
would have been killed, when a bomb dropped 45 feet away!

We were in an Anderson when a bomb totalled a house behind us about
50' away.

We had all sorts of crap on top the shelter, including a double bed
and a shed load of bricks and the home-made wooden door on our shelter
looked like a dartboard with shrapnel embedded all over it.

In Bristol we were in the shelter every night from 5.30 pm until
all-clear at about 6.30 am.
