Thanks, Mary. If it isn't honey fungus, that's a nice enough name for me
want to use your suggestion anyway. It certainly appeared where I had
deposited shredded tree limbs and shrub clippings.

It can be eaten, some like it. I haven't tried it.


I'm not *that* adventurous either :-)


Oh it's not that, we eat a lot of fungi which appear in the garden (things
like blewits and oysters), trouble is that I don't know what the best time
to eat honey fungus is and I always leave it too late to pick them and they
liquify!
