I think you're probably right, Mary, there must be blight in the area.
Nobody down our allotments can grow any decent tomatoes either. I might
check out a gardening site for more info. Well, at least the cavolo
nero's doing well :-)

In another gardening ng (uk.rec.gardening) there have been reports of
widespread blight. It's just not universal and our locality has been
lucky - as yours has. Be glad :-)


Thanks for that ng, I didn't know about it, will have a look. Boy, do we
have beetroot! And the sweetcorn's pretty good so far.

I dunno, with allotments some years you win, some years you don't win as
much.

Musn't dally, this is a pictures.gardens thing. May meet you in the other
gardening ng one day to discuss blight.
