could stick to your own name and still be posting as 'Pete'. A cunning and
economical plan, what?

The point is that Pete is instantly recognisable from the syntax and
semantics of his/her/its posts, whatever name he/she/it chooses. So
your plan will only work if you imitate the style - the sincerest form
of flattery, of course, hence no-one here is going to do that.
