My September garden is looking good and mostly taken over by tall
Cosmos and these guys, Helianthus. The Helianthus are one of several
plants know as perennial sunflowers. These are second-year from seed.
They flowered last year and they just started blooming about a week or
so ago for this season. They grow quite tall, probably 7-8 ft. and
they are covered with these yellow flowers about 3" across.

The tall cosmos are all accidentals from prior years, but they are
growing a good 6-7ft high too. The effect is this cloud of yellow,
pink and white covering the lower growing spent plants from earlier in
the season.
