In John McMillan's post, he mentions widespread flowering of Fargesia
nitida stocks.
Does this happen because the original stock all came from one super
divided plant?
Do plant divisions have the same 'age' as each other David? I just
wondered. For example if I divided a plant into three and sent them all
over the UK would they all flower in the same year as the parent plant
or would division rejuvenate them?
A friend has a huge stand of this round his pond and lost the lot about
a year ago. He seemed to think that the plants in the wild would also
flower in the same year even in another country. Pity the poor pandas
etc then!
Probably.
