Default Hybrid tree dahlias

What do you use to stake yours, David? Our (your) D. excelsa did the same
this year but although Ray had used some very stout stakes - not canes - and
string, the wind and their own weight took them over. We have a photo I'll
try attaching here, that shows a garden chair, which gives some idea of
height. It's a wonderful plant.

The D. imperialis has grown like mad in the garden but no sign of a flower
this year, or not yet. We reckon frost will get it before there's a flower
on it but we can still hope! Here's a pic of it last year with friend. ;-)

How's it done for you this year? We think that horrible June must have held
it back terribly.
