Default pond filter question

she has 2 "big sister" filters on that one pond. the ammonia was removed in 10 days
by running water from one of the big sisters thru the veggie filter. each filter has
its own veggie filter. I think something happened and the biobugs were killed so the
filters became useless. once ammonia was lowered by the plants the big sisters
kicked back in. in ANY case, there is now NO ammonia, NO nitrates either, so they no
longer have to do routine water changes. Ingrid

You have a large fish load and a big pond of 10K Gals, but you have ONLY
two 4' dia veggie filters that are 1' deep!!!? Do the two filters run
in parallel or serially? Do you have any mechanical filters before the
veggie filters? How often do you clean your filters? This may change
my entire plan for my pond.
