After last nights vicious frost, down to around -3 or 4c the dahlias

It's a pity as the "Old tree" was still laden with flowers and buds I

The hope I had was that the rain which ended the frost would have
helped save them from to much damage, I'll know in a few days as we
are not forecast for any more frost.

-3C here last night David but the D. excelsa hobbles on. The weather is
milder tonight, with cloud cover and some rain here but none until we
turned
off the A38 - this really is a strange little weather zone all of its own!
