Eddy a couple of hours after you posted about your Septic Tank, I posted the
following :-

"""I regret that septic tanks are rather like cars, wallpaper, fashions,
colours etc etc etc.All are different

I had Septic Tank which certainly DID NOT conform to the posts you have had
so far and my neighbour had one different again to mine.

You need to describe just what sort of tank you have. We cleared ours out
about every 3/4 years, our neighbour, because of the construction and system
of his tank NEVER had it emptied in the 20 years I knew of him."""

I think you will see by the diverse discussion and even arguments, that I
was correct. You stated that the previous owner had emptied the tank every
year and had you followed those 'instructions' you would have just carried
on without question. Your question has proved that an investigation as to
what type of tank you have would be beneficial and the easiest way out of
this is to ask neighbours if they 'KNOW' what type of tank you have or even
having it emptied and looking inside when it is empty.

"Cars", "Wallpapers", "Fashions", "Colours", etc etc etc

Best wishes

Mike
