g'day zane,
mine are usually yellowing in colour and they come away from the stem
of the vine easily when you pick up the fruit and put a little
pressure on the vine joining the fruit. mostly i have found that they
are usually going to be ready in the morning for picking eaten after
chilling in the fridge great stuff and sweet.
