Default Can I use a dilute buffer to adjust soil pH?

I m sure it will wash out of the mix in no
time. What do u want to
cultivate, and what kind of pH are we
talking about?

Thanks, I have a "Wedding Palm" (Lytocaryum
Weddelliana) which always has brown leaf tips
and generally looks sick. I have tried
everything except the soil pH.

It looked wonderful in the shop.

Incidentally, is there some listing of plants
and their optimum pH soil requirements?
