melbourne has several million people. of COURSE someone wants them.

freecycle (as mentioned).


I tried that, they have some weird prohibition against giving away plants or
plant-related materials.

donate to local op shop/2nd hand shop/general
stuff & building supplies shop. donate to local school/church/hospital
fete for sale or use. leave on nature strip (should disappear within
hours). local school or other organisation that has a garden & needs
supplies. etc etc etc.
