I'll tell you what I'd suggest :
- Call your county extension service, county agent, or whatever they call
them up there. He can probably give you a few ideas of plants that fit
your needs.
- Ask him if he knows any people who are working on, or have just finished a
master garden course. Usually these people will be glad to help out for
the experience, and will come by your house to see the lay of the land.
- Listen to, and call into your local radio station garden show.
