Stokesia (Blue Stokes Aster; 3rd year from seed). It took two years to
get firmly established, but these guys are looking good this year.
This was easy to grow from seed started indoors in a tray. The
germination rate was high as was the transplant success. I have a
"Blue Danube" I bought as a plant many years ago, which is more of a
powder blue in color. This is the species version with the more
lavender-colored flowers. The foliage does wilt in the strongest sun,
but it is quite hardy and very floriferous. Recommended as a
do-it-yourself perennial.
