I've just had mine refused for an online payment so checked with my bank's
security people. It was used to try to 1 penny through a particular outlet
as a test so has now been stopped altogether. At least I know the system
works but I wonder if they ever track down who was doing it!

I have been selling and buying over the Internet for many years and
have had numerous credit card problems with both buyers and my cards.
I moved all my transactions to PayPal a couple of years ago and
haven't had a problem since.

I too have been impressed with the online back up and we use them for all
payments to us.

My son sold something on e-bay via PayPal. 4 weeks afterwards the owner of the
card alleged misuse of her credit card. The item was delivered to her house by
registered mail, it was signed for, the item was not returned. A copy of the
signed receipt was available for all to see. It took PayPal 3 months to resolve
this obvious attempted fraud.

I have already been paid before I dispatch and if there is a dispute the
money back has to be reclaimed by the credit card company not Paypal who
are only the collecting agent and cream off a commission for doing so, I
have no knowledge of using the Paypal system itself. I have only had one
instance of a parcel not being delivered and the customer cutting up
rough demanding money back but after speaking to the carrier discovered
that he had given the wrong address (his old address) and his parcel
could be collected any time from the depot but he had refused to do so,
his credit card company refused to give him a refund and he eventual
collected his parcel but the whole process took 6 days and paypal were
not involved
