Default Dicentra

In article 0d47e4ad-bd3f-4136-8978-
,
says...
Bleeding heart plants die back mid-summer and leave a "hole" in the
borders in which they grow at this time of year.

Does anyone have any suggestions of perennials/small shrubs that could
occupy this space once they have died back, but would not be swamped
and outcompeted by dicentra in full growth?

Would appreciate any suggestions, thanks.
