Default Gillenia saving seed?

In article ,
says...
Gillenia trifoliata is such a lovely plant i ma surprised not more
people grow it. It's light and airy, not a thug and has dark red stalks
and blackish seedheads after flowering in July so has a longish length
of interest.
Does anyone know this plant well and so can tell me when the seed is
ripe? I mean how do i tell?
Apparently it will come true from seed and so I'd love to try it.

p.s. a photo of it is here (blinking long link, sorry)

I personally would always put it with space around it as it looks so
pretty looking through it rather than against a wall or fence, likes
shade as well!

I always waited until the first seeds dropped then harvested the lot into
a paper bag by cutting them off and letting the rest drop in the bag. Its
been too long to remember the exact timings - sorry! but I can tell you
it does well from seed.
